Have recently moved to the Redcliffe peninsula and just found Nathan Road Wetlands site but can find no access, are you able to give me any information regarding this site
Also
Are there any groups that I could join in this area for bird watching and wildlife?
Hi Jean,
Thank-you for your enquiry.
There is access along Nathan Road at a gate about half way along the reserve fence. There used to be a big sign inside the gate although I can’t remember if it is still standing. There are no formed tracks in this area. You can also access the reserve along Morris Road and Wattle Road where there is a mown track running east west along the south of the reserve. This reserve has some good birds, both bush and water (although it drys out from time to time.)
Not sure about birding groups in the Redcliffe area but Birds Qld, Birdlife Southern Qld and The Queensland Naturalists might be worth having a look at as they may have walks in your area you could join. If you are on facebook look for Brisbane Birders and Brisbane Birds as these groups may be of interest to you.
If you have any further inquiries I may be able to help with feel free to contact me on brisbirdingandwildlife@gmail.com
Regards
Gavin
